Ward R. Wetherill

Ward “Rus” Wetherill, age 66, a resident of Secane passed away on July 31, 2023. Rus was born in Abilene, Texas to Edward and Dorothy (Hathaway) Wetherill. He was a graduate of the Church Farm School. He relocated to New Hampshire in the late seventies. While living in New Hampshire he helped to build his mother’s home on family property located in Lempster, NH. Rus always enjoyed going back to New Hampshire to spend time visiting with his family. Rus returned to Pennsylvania in the early eighties and began working in the field of Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, where he met his future wife. He became a volunteer Firefighter and went on to school to become a Certified EMT and Paramedic. He became the Director of Fire Safety and Security at Elwyn Inc. He became interested in computers and guided by his older brother Randy, he became proficient in computers and changed fields to work in the field of IT. He received a degree in Microsoft Engineering. He held several jobs in the field of IT. He spent the last sixteen years as Assistant Director of IT Services for Delta Community Supports in Blue Bell before retiring in December 2021. He loved to watch Sports; Football, Baseball and especially Mixed Martial Arts. Rus enjoyed music and anything computer related. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Predeceased by his father, Edward Wetherill; stepmother, Miriam Wetherill; brother, William R. Wetherill; brother in law, William Wilson. Survived by his wife, Donna L. (Arthur) Wetherill; son, Matthew R. Wetherill; mother, Dorothy Hathaway; siblings Rebecca L. Mercier and J. Kathryn Wilson; sister in law, So Duk Wetherill. Also survived by an Aunt, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Visitation: Monday, 10:00 am ,at Williams Lombardo Funeral Home 33 W.
