Nancy E. Barrett

Nancy E. Barrett, age 80, of Glenolden, formerly of Collingdale, passed away on February 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 2, 1945, in Philadelphia, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel and Cora Evelyn (Boyd) McCloskey. A proud graduate of Interboro High School, she carried throughout her life the strong values of family, friendship, and community that defined her early years. Nancy was a devoted wife, sharing 61 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard H. Barrett Jr. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. A longtime resident of Collingdale before moving to Glenolden, Nancy was actively involved in her community. She generously volunteered with the Collingdale 4th of July Association, helping to create cherished memories and traditions for local families. Nancy found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved sewing, cooking, and baking for those she cherished, always making sure no one left her home hungry. She enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, NJ, and Lancaster, PA, places that brought her peace and happiness. A devoted Philadelphia Phillies fan, she could often be found cheering on her team with enthusiasm. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved animals. Above all else, Nancy treasured her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than time spent together, celebrating holidays, milestones, or simply enjoying everyday moments. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard H. Barrett Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Barrett; sister, Joan McFadden; sister in law, Doris Adolph. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
