James Momoh

James Zubara Momoh affectionately called JZ, passed away this life on Tuesday August 7, 2012 at 10PM at the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa. Bro Momoh was born May 20, 1937 unto the union of Mr. Banya Momoh, and Miss Isatu Hawa Tulay. Mr. Momoh spent most of his early years in Freetown, Sierra Leone West Africa, where he studied and obtained his primary education at Methodist Primary School,(Kailahun Sierra Leone), and his secondary education at the Bo High School( Sierra Leone). After graduation he traveled to Montreal Canada, where he studied and achieved a degree in Business Management, and Accountant. JZ as he was referred to returned to Sierra Leone, West Africa and began working for a natural grain manufacturing company. During the past year of his work, Sierra Leone hosted a conference for Ministers of several African countries, Mr. Stephen Tolbert, minister of Finance Republic of Liberia, headed a delegation representing Liberia to the conference. JZ was the keynote speaker representing his company. Seeing how brilliant and energenic he was, Mr. Tolbert asked him to come to Liberia and join him in the Ministry of Finance Republic of Liberia. He willingly agreed and returned to Liberia where he was offered the position of Deputy Director of miscellaneous taxes, with the Bureau Of Internal Revenue, and later became the director. He was also asked to serve as director of motor vehicles for a short period of time when the previous director passed away. He served both Bureaus were well served. During the early 80s, he worked with the National Democratic Party (N.D.P.L) OF Liberia and served as advisor to the chairman . JZ also served on the board of directors with the Monrovia City Hall Republic of Liberia. Bro Momoh is survived by his wife Girly Deline Momoh, his children, Isatu Momoh Koroma, Cynthia Momoh, Reedol Momoh, Charles Momoh, Andy Williams, Gwanta Williams Forte and his extended children, Sharon Davis Williams, Mitchel Fambulleh, Alexis Shannon, 10 grandchildren, siblings John Kaitongi and a host of other relatives and friends in the USA, and Liberia Sierra Leone. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Visitation: Friday evening 7pm at the Williams Lombardo Funeral Home 33 West Baltimore Pike Clifton Heights, Pa. Funeral : Family receiving friends at 10am followed by his Services at 11am in the Woodlyn Baptist Church 11125 MacDade Blvd, Woodlyn, Pa. 19094. Burial: Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery
