Claire R. Aultman

Claire Aultman (nee Bamond), 92, a longtime resident of Sharon Hill, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026 She was born in Emerson, New Jersey to the late Frank and Agnes Bamond. Claire graduated from Westwood High School class of 1951, in Westwood, NJ. She worked various jobs throughout her life including positions as a receptionist at a real estate office and at the local YMCA. She later worked as a contact lens specialist for several doctors’ offices, until health challenges led to her retirement at the age of 87. Claire had a lifelong love of animals and was rarely without a cat or dog in her home. She was especially fond of dogs and spent time showing them on regional circuits, an experience she spoke of with pride. Claire was an enthusiastic fan of Elvis Presley and his memorabilia and music could be found throughout her home. Her television was often tuned to one of the three G’s: Game Show Network, Golden Girls, or Gaither Gospel Hour. Claire also cherished the many memories she made while camping with her family at Warwick Woods Campground in Warwick, Pennsylvania. For decades Claire was the steady center of family gatherings. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will carry her memory with them always. She is predeceased by her children, Linda DiNapoli (late Tom DiNapoli), Richard Costello (late Renee Costello); husband, Wayne O. Aultman, Sr. and James J. Costello, and her sister, Ruth Rossi. Claire is survived by her son, James Costello (Dorothy) and her daughter, Patricia Gowland (Edward). She was the proud Nana to nine grandchildren Heather, Michael, Tom, Stephen, Kimmy, Brian, Sean, Matthew, and to her grandson Mark, whom she lovingly raised as her own; Great Nana to five cherished great grandchildren, Matthew, Kinsley, Peyton, Aubrie and Cameron.
