Theresa M. DeSantis

Theresa “Terry” DeSantis, longtime resident of Springfield, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, December 25th at Kentmere Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Wilmington, Delaware. Born in 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, Theresa graduated from Hallahan High School and attended Immaculata College. Theresa worked for many years as an executive assistant at Chilton Publishing Company. After retiring from Chilton, she continued to work full time, first as an administrative assistant for Lansdowne Township and then for Windsor Sheffield where she worked for several years until her retirement at the age of eighty one. Professionally, she was known for her exceptional secretarial skills and her warm, caring nature. She built lifelong friendships with many colleagues. A talented musician, Theresa played the violin and piano. She volunteered for many years with the Saint Francis of Assisi Players at her Parish Church in Springfield, PA. Terry loved her family and friends, her pets, cooking, traveling and socializing. She viewed her family and friends, neighbors and coworkers as treasured gifts. Terry made everyone feel cherished and always placed others’ needs ahead of her own. She loved unconditionally and with her whole heart. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Theresa and Dominic DeSantis, brother Anthony DeSantis (Doris), and sisters Rita DeSantis, Gloria Pisciotta (Vincent), and Florence (Robert) Hannum. She is survived by her brother, Louis DeSantis, sister-in- law, Joanne, her cousins Rita Grayum, Rita Stahl, nieces and nephews: Lynne McCay (Michael), Vincent Pisciotta (Marissa), Robert Hannum (Mary), Karen Horney (Steven), Dominic DeSantis (Sharon), Jeanmarie DeSantis, Mary Clare Smith (Bob), Ann Carrathers (Charles), Rita Capaldi, Joanne Dent (Stephen), Brad Grayum (Marianne), Cecelia Amantangelo (Paul), Lizbeth Duffy (Rick), Christine Grafstrom (Ed), and many great nieces, great nephews and dear friends. Memorial gifts may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor (http://littlesistersofthepoor.org/) or Faithful Friends Animal Society (https://faithfulfriends.us/). Williams Lombardo Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Saturday, January 4th, 10:30 AM at Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Springfield, PA. Visitation to begin at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
