Joan W. (Weidman) Northwood, 89 a longtime resident of Springfield went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in Philadelphia to the late Henry and Edna (Welsh) Weidman. She was a graduate of John Bartram High School. Joan was a retired secretary who worked for Gulf Oil in Philadelphia, The Franklin Mint, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Clifton Heights, John H. Benner Painting, and Block Jewelers. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, crafts, watching the Phillies, and spending time in Ocean City, NJ. For Joan, family was everything. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, nana, aunt, and sister who will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Henry and Edna (Welsh) Weidman and her brother, Henry H. Weidman Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Richard A. Northwood; daughters, Leslie (Gary) Block, Christine (Frank) Pappa and Leigh (Jim) Devine; grandchildren, Lindsay (Eric) Kerby, Taylor (Matt) Krotowski, Lauren (David) Walton, Kyle (Anna McDevitt) Pappa and Ashleigh Devine. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. Visitation: Friday, 9:30 am at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church 199 W. Baltimore Avenue Clifton Heights. Funeral Service: Friday, 10:30 am at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
