With broken hearts, we announce the passing of William “Billy” White, affectionately known to many as Billy, Coach Bill, and most proudly, Poppy. Billy passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 66, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love, laughter, and devotion to his family. Billy was a truck driver by trade, an Army Ranger for a brief time in his younger years, a dedicated youth football and baseball coach for over 15 years, and a friend to countless people. Whether he was coaching from the sidelines, sharing stories, or simply showing up when someone needed him, he lived a life centered on caring for others. But above every title he ever held, Billy was a father and a grandfather. His daughter and his five grandchildren were the center of his universe. Anyone who knew Billy knew that nothing mattered more to him than spending time with them. He visited his grandchildren several times each week, made it a tradition to take them and his daughter out to enjoy meals together, and never missed an opportunity to remind them how deeply they were loved. His grandchildren will forever hear his familiar words, “Where’s my hug?”—a phrase that became one of the many ways he made each of them feel special and cherished. Billy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan through every season, loved the freedom of riding his Harley-Davidson, and had a lifelong appreciation for cars. He enjoyed making memories, sharing laughs, and living life with the people he loved most. As Coach Bill, he influenced the lives of countless young athletes, teaching far more than football and baseball. He taught teamwork, perseverance, respect, and the importance of believing in yourself. Many of those players grew up carrying lessons they first learned from him on the field. Billy’s greatest gift was his heart. He loved without hesitation, gave generously, and made everyone around him feel like family. His presence brought comfort, his smile brought warmth, and his love will continue to surround those he leaves behind. He is survived by his beloved daughter(MaryAlice), who was his greatest pride, and his five treasured grandchildren(Aubree, Layla, RiverJean, Johnny, Theodore), who were the light of his life; and his sister Linda. Though their hearts are forever changed, they find comfort knowing that the love he poured into them will remain with them always. While words cannot fully express the loss we feel, we are grateful for every hug, every laugh, every lesson, every shared meal, and every precious memory. Billy’s life was one well lived—not because of the miles he traveled, but because of the countless lives he touched along the way. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit rides on in every Harley that passes by, every Cowboys game watched with family, every child encouraged to chase their dreams, and every hug shared in his honor.
