Sharon A. Maccario

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon “Sherry” Ann Maccario, who left us on May 31st, 2026. She was 69 years old. Born on May 14th, 1957 to James “Norman” and Rosemary Bagent, Sherry grew up in Clifton Heights with her sister Rebecca “Becky”. As she came of age, she realized she wanted to spend her life helping others which led her into Nursing. Her early career was spent in maternity helping women begin the adventure that is motherhood. In later years, though, she moved on to behavioral health and addiction. She spent many years helping the sickest and most vulnerable rebuild their lives, conquer their demons, and reenter society. Her primary role, however, was that of a mother, and in later years, grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren above all others and would never hesitate to do what was needed. As her children were growing up, she would often work extremely long hours to ensure the lights stayed on and there was good food on the table. She would listen to their troubles at any hour and offer sage counsel. When she entered her “Grammy” era, her grandchildren became her top priority. She moved to Hawaii to help raise her first 2 grandchildren before returning to Pennsylvania to help raise the next 3. Sherry’s most powerful attributes were her empathy, caring, and selflessness. She always put others before herself. If a coworker liked a shirt she had, she would go home, wash it, and give it as a gift the next day. When her sons wanted to go somewhere with their friends, she would pile everyone into her minivan and take them anywhere. As Sherry joins her parents, she is survived by many loved ones. First off is her younger sister Becky. She had 4 children: Sam (Kenneth Robinson), James “Jimmy”, Kevin (Jennifer nee McCullough), and Joseph (Laura nee Scordato). She also had the distinct privilege and joy to be the Grammy of 5 incredible grandchildren: Euna, Elijah, Kevin Jr., Danielle, and Jessica. She may no longer be with us, but her legacy will live on and persevere through her loved ones. Visitation: Wednesday, June 10th 6:00-8:00 pm at the Lombardo Funeral Home 530 W.
