Nancy Cecilia Freyberger

Nancy Cecilia (Young) Freyberger, aged 83, passed away on November 18th , 2024, in Media, PA. Born on February 3, 1941, in Brommerstown, PA. Nancy attended St. Stephens Catholic School in Port Carbon, PA. Throughout her life, she embraced various roles with enthusiasm and pride. Notably, she owned and operated a taxi company, Town Cab, in Pottsville during the early 70s. She later contributed her culinary skills as a prep cook at the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City, MD, and served her community as a crossing guard in Glenolden, PA, after her retirement. A creative soul, Nancy was passionate about crafts. Armed with a glue gun, popsicle sticks, and beads, she could always be counted on to create something unique and interesting. Additionally, she cherished sewing and hand quilting blankets, crafting not just items but memories cherished by those who received her creations. Nancy’s zest for life extended to road trips, cooking, puzzles and spending cherished moments with her family, especially her grandchildren, Emily, Logan and Lucas, and her beloved grand dog, Ted Ted. Described by her loved ones as silly, caring, friendly, and kind, she was always ready to offer whatever she could to those in need. Nancy was a person who brought laughter and warmth to all those around her. If ever asked what she wanted or needed you can always rely on her to answer with, “a shot and a beer or “a bag of money”. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Michelle Marx Sampson (married to Robert Joseph Sampson Jr) of Media, PA; her son, Robert Earl Marx Jr. of Port Carbon, PA; grandchildren Emily (Griffin), Logan, Lucas, Kyle, and Justin; niece Sandi Kraybill (New Cumberland) and many other nieces and nephews who affectionately loved her; brothers William (Barb) of Palo Alto, Donald (Mariann) of Pottsville, and Frederick (Dolores) of Georgia. Nancy also leaves behind numerous cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, two biological daughters, Loretta and Loreen, and their families. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes (Schultz) and Leroy Young of Mechanicsville, PA, and siblings Alice Connors, Peg Maley, and Joseph Young. A Celebration of Life has been scheduled for Nancy on February 2, 2025. Visiting hours are from 2-5pm. Please wear something purple. 9 Rampart West Media, PA
