Maryann Nero

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maryann Nero, who died peacefully at the age of 88 on October 16, 2025. Born on August 19, 1937, in Philadelphia, to the late Candeloro and Teressa (Cappuccio) Cermignani. A proud graduate of Clifton Heights High School, Maryann was an avid and dedicated member of Holy Cross Church for over 60 years. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply involved in her church community. Maryann was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, never missing a game. Her love for cooking and crafts was well-known to all who knew her, and she took great joy in making things with her hands—whether it was a home-cooked meal or a thoughtful, handmade gift. Always keeping an eye on fashion, Maryann made many different outfits – crafting everything from school clothes and Halloween costumes to doll clothes. She also had a fondness for shopping, always on the hunt for a good bargain or the perfect find. Most of all, Maryann was devoted to her family. Her love and dedication to her loved ones were boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She will be remembered not just for the things she did, but for the warmth, kindness, and love she shared with everyone she met. Maryann leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Nero II; children, Joseph Nero III and Teresa Lawrence-Nero. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Walter) Gonzalez; daughter in law, Joyce Nero; grandchildren, Samuel (Christine) Rowe, Margaret Nero, Joseph Nero IV, Tara Lawrence, Briana (Ryan Rucier) Lawrence, Vanessa (Dan) Cirminiello and Stacia Lawrence; great grandchildren, Ava, Jada, Mia, Audrina, Mackenzie and Stephen. Also survived by several cousins. Visitation: Thursday, 9:30 AM at Holy Cross Church 651 E. Springfield Road Springfield. Funeral Mass: Thursday, 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Church. Interment: SS.
