Joan A. Longhi

Joan Angelina (nee Mottola) Longhi of Clifton Heights, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5th, 2020, at the age of 82, at her home with her family by her side. Joan was the beloved wife of Dominick A. Longhi with whom she shared 61 years of a happy and wonderful marriage. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie (Passarella) Mottola and her brother John. Joan was very involved in the raising of her children and well-known at Sacred Heart Church & School as one of the Gym Instructors with many fond memories for those under her care. She initiated and managed the Clifton Heights Food Festival for many years and enjoyed taking cruises and travelling, especially to Italy. In 1974, with four young children and a new home, Joan supported her husband as his first Administrator and Para Legal in starting DAL, Inc. into the successful business it is today. But Joan’s true happy place, was her condo in Avalon, where you could always stop by for a piece of homemade pizza on Friday night, plate of pasta on Sunday, or just join her to chat on the deck with a cup of coffee and homemade cake. If you were lucky enough, you were able to enjoy her summertime blueberry cake! And let us not forget the fond and fun memories (karaoke style!) of the Annual Pig Roast with the Holt Family! Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Her fun, energetic, and feisty sense of humor will be missed dearly. She is survived by her four children: Deborah Lynn Longhi, Donna Maria Daniels, Joseph James (Colleen) Longhi, Michael Anthony (Lori) Longhi; Grandchildren: Gina, Christina, Christopher, Nicholas, Dominick, Lauren, J. Earl, Hunter, and Jennifer; Great-grandchild: Nani; sister: Lucille Klepfer and niece: Michelle Pilitowski. Joan, a/k/a/ Joanie, Mom, Mom-Mom, and Aunt Joan was passionate about her love for family, food, and traditional values. Due to the current rise in COVID cases, the viewing and internment services will be private. A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be planned at a future date in 2021.
