Frank J. DiJoseph

Frank DiJoseph, 92, formerly of Primos, PA, a resident of Fox Hill Farms in Glen Mills, passed away after a battle with dementia. He grew up in Clifton Heights with his parents, Frank and Jennie, and his sisters, Gloria DiJoseph and Dorothy (Ed) Barth, who all preceded him in death. Frank graduated from Clifton Heights High School in 1951. He was president of his class and a three-sport (football, basketball, and baseball) athlete. Besides his wife, football, and cars, Clifton Heights was his true love, especially the Memorial Day and 4th of July parades. Even in his final days, he longed to move back. He was a founding member of Primos Secane Swim Club (#57), serving on the grounds committee. Frank’s strong Catholic faith was evident as he attended mass and served the community of St. Eugene’s parish for over five decades and, more recently, St. Cornelius. Healthy and strong, Frank drove, golfed, played bocce, billiards, and darts into his nineties, with his bocce team’s championships being his final athletic win. He loved Wildwood, NJ, where he met his wife, Eleanor (El), and enjoyed swimming and floating in the ocean. On any given Sunday, you’d find him watching the PGA tour or the Eagles or patiently waiting for El while she shopped. Always hardworking, Frank started at his father’s shoe repair shop at a very young age. Frank was drafted into the US Army and served as a radio operator in the Korean War. He had a 33-year career with The Boeing Company in both Morton and Ridley Park, rising from machine operator to Senior Manager of Tool Fabrication when he retired in 1993. His commitment to El and support for his family were the focus of his life. He is survived by his wife, El, and he outlived his daughter, Donna (Steve) Janasik. He is survived by his two sons, Frankie (Theresa) DiJoseph and Paul (Kathy) DiJoseph, and his grandchildren: Theresa (Doug) Shafer, Dara DiJoseph, Julia (Phil) Venditti, Stephen (Megan) Janasik, Sophia DiJoseph, and Sam DiJoseph. Frank is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Ryder Shafer, Ellie Venditti, Conner Janasik, and Mathew Janasik. His great-grandson Bennett Janasik and his daughter are the angels that welcomed him. No formal services are currently planned. If you would like to commemorate Frank, here are a few suggestions: go to Mass, take a loved one shopping, eat something sweet like a long john, make a cup of coffee for someone, tip generously, read a newspaper, play a round of golf with friends, happily drive somewhere, go to Wildwood and swim in the ocean, put in a full day and then take a nap on the couch or a chair, or donate to St. Eugene’s School, 110 S Oak Ave, Primos, PA 19018.
