Victoria P. Gato

Victoria P. Barrett-Gato, 95 a resident of Morton passed away on December 29, 2020. Victoria was born in Clifton Heights to the late Alfred and Victoria (Salomone) Rosato. As a child, Victoria was known to help her mother with dusting scrubbing and mopping. This carried in to her adulthood which gave her the name "clean freak moniker" In her younger days, Victoria was a tap dancer and performed at the Clifton movie theatre, recitals and other venues. She was a 1943 graduate of Clifton Heights High School. Upon graduation, Victoria went to work at World Press Printing in Philadelphia. She also worked at Waynesboro Country Club as an office Manager and later Lead Cashier at Acme Markets in Paoli. In the last years of her life, she was employed at Auntie Anne's Pretzels in Springfield Mall. Victoria broke the record for the oldest employee at the mall, working till the age of 95. Victoria had a strong desire to live having gone through painful blood transfusions in the last six months. She was living with her niece (too short of a stay) in the very home her oldest brother, Lou, built in 1939. She wanted to die there, but the Lord had other plans. Victoria had to go back to Bryn Mawr Hospital for what was to be her last transfusion. The Hospital took wonderful care of her but the Good Lord called. Before her death, she told her niece Gloria " I dreamed I met my sister Lena and we went on to meet the mob (affectionately referring to her parents and siblings). Victoria was predeceased by two fine husbands, James Barrett who was her teenage sweetheart of Clifton Heights (son of boxing champion Bobby Barrett-40's era) and Dr. Froilon Gato, DDS. of North Miami. Victoria lived in North Miami, Florida until the passing of her husband. Victoria was the youngest of 10 children all predeceasing her. The most recent was her sister Lee Mousley who died 11/07/2020. Babies, Freddie and Eleanor; Louis (Emma) Rosato Sr., Antonio (Anne) Rosato, Arthur Rosato (casualty of WWll); sisters, Mary (Tony) Puliti, Martha (Sam) Ziviello, Ann (Mike) Laurino, and Lee (Harry) Mousley; nephews, Alfred (Shelly) Rosato, Louis (Helen) Rosato Jr. and Anthony (Veronica) Puliti. Survived by her nieces Gloria (Callahan) Rosato and Carol Ann (Tommy) Coyle; nephews, Anthony (Mary) Rosato and Sam (Joanne) Ziviello. Also survived by many great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
