Richard James Trout

Richard James Trout 1931-2016 Richard J. Trout, 85, was born in Collingdale, PA. Upon receiving Christ as his personal Savior in 1946 he began volunteering at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference which led him to study at Philadelphia School of the Bible on Thursday evenings throughout high school. Upon graduation from Glen-Nor High School in Glenolden, PA, he enrolled in Lancaster School of Theology. While at Lancaster School of Theology, he got engaged to his wife Ruth and they were married at their home church in June of 1951. Richard graduated from LBC and continued his education at Washington Bible College where he earned a B.A. in 1958. He also served as Pastor of Frederick Maryland Bible Church during this time. In 1959 Richard accepted the invitation to join The Pocket Testament League for distribution of Bibles and evangelism in Germany for six months. This paved the way for he and family to accept the call to live in Peru as missionaries and serve the Spanish speaking countries in South America for 14 years. He taught at the Peruvian Bible Institute and served as a board member. The final four years he was named General Secretary of the Peruvian Evangelical Council, representing over 500 Missionaries before the government. In 1974, Richard and his family moved back to the US and he served as Pastor of Maranatha Tabernacle for nearly 10 years. In September of 1984 he moved to Chesterfield, New Jersey and served as Associate Pastor of Shadyrest Bible Church. He also began teaching at Central Jersey Bible Institute where he faithfully taught for 20 years impacting the lives of many people. Richard retired from Pastoral Ministry in 1995 but continued serving the Lord at Shadyrest through missions, church planning, youth groups, Sunday School, visitations, and developing a food rescue ministry. The Lord called Richard to Norwood, PA, to care for his widowed mother in September of 1998. There he helped found the Amazing Grace Ministries with a partner in Delaware. He served on the Amazing Grace Ministries' board until 2013. He was most recently serving as District Manager taking food to churches each week in Philadelphia, Delaware, and South Jersey. He continued to speak at various churches. Richard was an active member of the Community Church of Folsom where he felt much love and kindness bestowed towards he and his late wife Ruth. Richard James Trout is survived by two sisters, Lois Bowers and Barbara Perkons, two sons, Stephen (Sharon),Paul (Kitty), three daughters, Sharon (Randy), Beth (Bill), Miriam (Bob), 25 Grandchildren and 34 Great-Grandchildren.
