Lois Nielsen Melchiore

Lois Nielsen Melchiore, age 57 (if you are family, you probably knew her as Cloie), was born January 4, 1958 in Darby, Pennsylvania. She worked as a clerk at the Delaware County Courthouse in Media, where she met her husband Alfred Melchiore Jr, who was a courthouse policeman. She really admired how he looked when he walked with that gun on his hip. They married on May 1, 1982. She loved her husband very much and was very grateful that he was her life partner. Her pride and joy was her family. She did an outstanding job raising her kids. We are grateful to have learned many valuable lessons from mom. She taught us about unconditional love and radical honesty. Everyone who knew mom, knows she told it like it is. She was an open book to those she loved. She could tell them anything and they could tell her anything. Mom was a die-hard Steelers fan. She also loved Bon Jovi, John Michael Montgomery, and cats. Mom hated Kenny Chesney with a passion (no offense, Kenny). Even more than the Steelers, mom loved giving hugs and kisses to those she loved. She never let a day go by without telling them that she loved them. She loved her family so much she came back from a coma just to be able to spend another 3 weeks with them. The doctors and nurses said that science can’t explain how she did that. She entered eternal life on May 12, 2015. Mom was so great that she only needed 57 years to accomplish all that she came to earth to do. Her spirit is carried on by her husband, her daughter Christie Anne, her son Fred, her future daughter-in-law Yeni, her mother, Lois, her brothers James and Peter Nielsen, her nieces and nephews, and everyone whose life she touched. Mom is very excited to be reunited with her Aunt Gay and Uncle Russ, and especially her beloved father, Peter Nielsen. We are eternally grateful for all the kind and dedicated caregivers and staff at Seasons Hospice. They are amazing. We are also immensely thankful for all of the family members and friends that were so loving and supportive during mom’s last months on Earth. She had a very profound realization of how loved she was. Friends can visit with Lois' family at Williams Lombardo Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16th from 09:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Service will be held immediately after. Turn up Bon Jovi full volume and wave your terrible towels in honor of Lois.
