George J. Mount

George ‘Pop” Mount Age 83 was called home on Oct 4th 2023. He was born in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia PA. on August 22, 1940. With his beloved wife of 54 years they raised their three daughters Monica Schmucker, Melissa Dougherty (Darin Dougherty) Elizabeth McGlinchey (Matthew McGlinchey) in Upper Darby Pennsylvania. Finally, settling in Aston PA. where they enjoyed making memories with their grandchildren, George Brooke (Rachel Kaplan) Steven Schmucker (Destiny Schmucker) Samuel Schmucker (Kelsey Jensen) Stevie Brooke Molly Brooke (Paul Fullerton) Matthew Schmucker and Amanda McGlinchey. Pop was also able to make memories with his great grandchildren Cole Decker Maxwell Schmucker and Quinn Schmucker. Pop was looking forward to meeting baby Brooke (send our baby boy with lots of freckles pop!) Proceeded in death by his parents Anna and John Mount his brothers John and James Mount. He is survived by his loving sister Nancy Graven (Speedy) and brothers Ed Mount (Patricia) and Frank Mount (Joy). Pop is survived by his loving Brothers, Sisters in Law and lifelong friends who have traveled and made amazing memories over the last 50 years. Pop will be missed beyond measure, but we will forever be grateful for the memories. His grandchildren will remember his stories of his time as a Pirate Captain, an Astronaut, a Deep Sea Fisherman and a boxer (that one is true). Pop was a man of few words, but you knew you were loved. Pop spent his time sitting on his deck playing with the kids and smoking his cigs which we had to hide in the mailbox (so mom would not find out). He loved SpongeBob, the Simpsons and listening to his country music and playing the Willie Nelson slots at the casino. He enjoyed camping and cursing. Some of pop’s most beloved memories were of his time at the campground with his grandkids fishing, frog hunting and teaching all the kids to swim…. Visitation: Monday, 11:30 am at St. John Fisher Church 4225 Chichester Avenue Boothwyn. Mass: Monday, 12:30 pm at St. John Fisher Church.
