Bernard G. Pipe

Bernard G. “Bud” Pipe, 86 of Clifton Heights died on a August 1, 2013 at his residence. “Bud” was a graduate of St. Thomas More, Class of 1954. He was married to his wife, Roseanne for 60 years before her death in January 2013. Together they had 6 children, 15 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was a great man, wonderful husband and father. Over the years, he traveled throughout the United States with his children in the family camper each summer. Bud served in the U.S. Army WW2 88th “Blue Devil” Division in Italy; the Pennsylvania Air National Guard 270th Ground Electronics Squadron retiring with 25 years of service as Senior Master Sergeant. Bud worked for Bell Atlantic Corporation as an Assistant Manager for the Engineering Department for 40 years retiring at the age of 56. But retirement didn’t last long. Bud served the Borough of Clifton Heights as Councilman, Chairman, Civil Service Committeeman, Police Officer, Pennsylvania State Constable (26) years, Health Officer and Emergency Management coordinator. He was a member of the Clifton Heights Fire department and worked as an EMT. He was active in many volunteer activities including PA Junior Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post 358, Veterans Council, Air Force Sergeant’s Association, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Pioneers Club of Bell Atlantic, St. Eugene’s Church, the Polish American Citizens Club and the Italian American Citizens Club. Before his passing, Bud was still active in the Air Force Retirees Activities Office, as well a Life Time Member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was also the President of the Liberty Bell Chapter Life Member Club for the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was predeceased by his son Bernard J. Pipe and brother Richard Pipe. Survivors: Children Beth Evangelisto, Eileen (Marty) Pelka, Steven (Regina) Pipe, Diane (Mike) Jasinnas, Claire (Doug) Collins; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Monday 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00 – 10:00 AM at Williams Lombardo Funeral Home, 33 W. Baltimore Ave., Clifton Heights Funeral Mass: Tuesday 10:30 AM, St. Eugene Church, 200 S. Oak Ave., Primos Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery
